A blessed Easter season to all of you.
Much has happened since we last were in contact. First, we have our new bishop, as you all know. Our prayers have been answered, and, come June 22, we will begin to get to know Bishop Paprocki. It could be that next spring, I am the first person he ordains as our bishop (when I become a deacon).
School ends here in St. Louis on May 7. Most of the heavy lifting has already taken place in April. It has been a good year. I just completed my parish assignment for the academic year - serving at Sunday Mass at Our Lady of the Presentation just south of Lambert Airport, as well as taking communion to the homebound members of the parish.
At the end of May, I will move into my summer assignment - St. Mary's in Edwardsville with Fr. Tom Meyer. I am looking forward to returning to the town where I spent 3 years in college (SIUE from '04-'06). Great people there.
Next year begins the fifth of six years that I will spend at the seminary. The time has gone by so fast, and my classmates and I are excited that we can say "next year" is our turn to become deacons. Ordinations to the priesthood in 2012 will also be here before you know it.
Thanks for all your prayers!
Zach

Things are busy here, today is "Super Tuesday" where my classmates and I have classes and meetings non-stop (with the exception of meals) from 9 a.m to 8 p.m. Thankfully, it's the only time during this semester that all these various events align on the same day. I have recently selected my advisor for my Masters Thesis and am beginning the planning stages of that undertaking.
Lent is fast-approaching and we will take the 17th off of classes to have a Day of Recollection spent in Adoration and with a couple of spiritual conferences.
Here are the Rome pictures you requested, first myself standing in front of the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls.
#2 Pope Benedict incenses the altar and gifts at the Offertory during Christmas Eve Mass (we sat behind the main altar for Mass). #3 myself, my friend Chris from St. Louis, and His Excellency Archbishop Raymond Burke. Chris and I were invited to come over to dinner at the Archbishop's residence at the Vatican, and I was glad to accept and to get to see him again. #4 Chris and I in St. Peter's Square on Christmas Day for the Pope's Urbi et Orbi message. #5 panorama of the view from my room at the North American College, just south of St. Peter's
